The cooling system that we manufacture for fermenters presents several advantages : it is particularly efficient, easy to use and economical.
EFFICIENT
The heat exchanger consists of a great number of tubes which are connected in parallel within a casing.
The mash to be cooled circulates inside each of these tubes, with the cooling water flowing outside. The temperature exchange area is especially important, and explains in part the efficiency of the system.
This technology also makes it possible for the fluids to move quickly through the exchange area ; the mash inside the tubes circulates at a very high speed because of the fermenter’s aerating pump, and the water outside the tubes because of the cooling flow. Heat transfer is directly linked to the circulating speeds of these two fluids. If one of them remains stagnant or flows at a low speed, it will result in poor fermenter cooling.
The efficiency of our cooling system allows us to regulate fermentation temperatures, even under extreme conditions, without having to resort to water cooled by a separate refrigeration unit.
EASY TO USE
So as to reduce maintenance to a maximum, we have designed the exchanger without gaskets between the water circuit and the mash circuit. Consequently, no gasket maintenance is necessary, and moreover, there is no risk of water leaking into the fermenter.
It is also very simple to clean the water circuit area due to a bypass system which allows the exchanger to be isolated from the rest of the cooling unit, in order to run a discaling product through, for example.
ECONOMICAL
The simplicity of the exchanger’s construction reflects an overall savings in the total cost of the fermenter.
The operation of the exchanger itself is economical, since the efficiency of the system makes it possible to use water up to a high temperature which reduces the cost of water cooling.
